ICUR Student Director 2025
About
Hi, I’m Abi, a physics student based at the University of Warwick. I am passionate about the transformative impact of undergraduate research and its ability to foster innovation and collaboration. As a student director for ICUR, I am excited to help amplify the voices of fellow students and contribute to building a platform that celebrates diverse perspectives and groundbreaking ideas.
I was drawn to undergraduate research because of its power to encourage curiosity, build confidence, and create opportunities for students to make meaningful contributions to their fields. My own research interests lie in condensed matter biophysics, but I am equally fascinated by interdisciplinary work—particularly how research in different areas can intersect to address global challenges.
I attended ICUR in 2024, inspired by its mission to democratize research and provide a global stage for undergraduates. In 2024, I saw people gain confidence when given the opportunity to present their research, which reinforced my belief in the importance of accessible, student-led academic opportunities.
Looking ahead to ICUR 2025, my vision is to expand its reach and impact by fostering stronger international partnerships and creating even more opportunities for student engagement.
