About

Dr Amber Tout joined IATL as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in December 2025. She is currently working with Professor Elena Riva on an Enhancing Research Culture-funded project mapping existing wellbeing initiatives for researchers and research professionals.

Before joining IATL, Amber was based in Warwick Medical School, where she contributed to multiple research culture and wellbeing projects. These included a 2024–2025 project examining the challenges faced by early- to mid-career women in academia, as well as the co-development of a preventative sleep management programme for shift workers (2023–2024).

Amber completed her PhD at the University of Sussex in 2023. Her doctoral research explored the relationships between positive psychological traits and sleep quality and quantity. Her broader research interests include sleep health, wellbeing, intervention co-development, and research culture.
