Summary
This project aims to evaluate the impact of the International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR) beyond participation numbers by examining who it reaches and its longer-term outcomes. We will analyse anonymised alumni data and HEAR records to track presenter progression into further study or employment. Surveys for ICUR 2026 presenters and attendees will assess demographics, motivations, and potential under-representation, including factors such as part-time employment. We will also evaluate the effectiveness of pre-conference support sessions by analysing abstract submission and attendance rates. Pre- and post-conference surveys will measure changes in confidence and perceptions of research culture, informing future outreach and strategic development.
