What is the Postgraduate Award in Interdisciplinary Pedagogy?

is a professional development opportunity for anyone who facilitates teaching and learning at the University of Warwick (e.g. academics, researchers, administrators, PGRs) (or is interested in supporting) – creating a rich and diverse learning community of colleagues interested in enhancing interdisciplinary education in their area of work. The course offers a foundation in interdisciplinary pedagogy in the context of higher education, first through a theoretical evaluation of interdisciplinarity and its variants (multi-, trans-, non-disciplinarity) as they relate to pedagogic practice, and later through practical contextualisation and application of learning through case study development.
Colleagues who are taking this course are asked to develop and assess their own interdisciplinary pedagogical practice at the university through reflective blogs, a practice-based presentation and an evidence portfolio. The course usually runs from October to July and includes both online and face-to-face meetings, and enrolment in a 30 CATS module entitled “Interdisciplinary Teaching and Learning.”
Below you can find out more about the Case Studies that colleagues from across the university who have taken IATL’s PGA have developed on the course and successfully implemented in their area of work.
