A Moment For Me: A Practical Wellbeing Journal For Students

Esther Awofadeju

I am a Second Year Psychology Student passionate about mental health and wellbeing especially in young people. This module aligned with my interests allowing me to delve deeper into different techniques available to help manage one’s wellbeing, motivating me to create a journal that highlights many of these techniques.

About the Project

This project presents the development of a practical wellbeing journal designed to support the mental health of university students. In response to high levels of psychological distress, the journal provides an accessible, preventative tool that encourages self-reflection, emotional awareness, and engagement with evidence-based wellbeing practices.

Drawing on psychological theories, including hedonic and eudaimonic wellbeing, as well as cognitive behavioural and compassion-focused approaches, the journal incorporates structured prompts, self-maintenance tracking, and brief wellbeing activities to promote adaptive coping and emotional regulation.

Overall, the project demonstrates how psychological theory can be translated into a practical resource. While not a substitute for professional support, the journal offers an accessible tool to support student wellbeing and encourage sustainable self-care practices.
