Participatory Practice - Aims

As part of our Strategy, IATL is committed to develop and disseminate Participatory Practices.
To achieve our ambitious goals in this area, we have outlined key commitments:

To create spaces where the voices of students and staff are heard, and where their ideas, values and experiences are central.

To work with colleagues around the University and beyond to evaluate different forms of participatory practice, including co-creation, collaboration and partnership, and to explore the associated benefits and challenges.

To create, evaluate, and widely disseminate effective participatory practices and approaches that are suitable for different higher education needs and spaces.

To adopt and evaluate radical staff co-creation practices across departmental decision-making processes, revisiting typical hierarchical approaches and developing an alternative model for other departments.

To work with students across IATL's projects and activities, learning from and with them about effective participatory practices and sharing that learning.

To provide opportunities for staff and students to work together, supported by project funding.
