If you have previously been an undergraduate at one of the universities in the MIBTP partnership, do not assume information you have previously declared will already have been shared with MIBTP.
Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) Support
The UKRI Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) aims to support UKRI funded PGRs with additional expenditure with the costs of study-related requirements that may be incurred as a result of disability. A simple guide to the meaning of disability is available from the Equalities Advisory and Support Service. The UK government has published more extensive guidance on GOV.UK. It is worth noting that the definition is broad and can cover impairments caused by a very wide range of health conditions.
All disabled students funded by UKRI training grants are eligible for UKRI DSA, irrespective of whether they are a home student or an international student.
A DSA Assessment can be requested from the point of offer, in order to ensure necessary adjustments can be put in place from the beginning of your studentship. If you have a diagnosed disability and believe that you may benefit from the UKRI DSA, please contact your local MIBTP Administrator as soon as possible for more details.
Please refer to the UKRI DSA FrameworkLink opens in a new window for further guidance on what costs are covered.
Reasonable Adjustments
If your disability means that you will require reasonable adjustments for assessments in year 1, you will need to contact the Warwick Disability Services teamLink opens in a new window by Monday 2nd November 2026. We request that you also contact mibtp@warwick.ac.uk directly to confirm any adjustments you require. This will ensure that we are fully aware of how to support you from the very beginning of your training and avoid any delays that might arise due to the busy period at the beginning of term. Please note that any requests for reasonable adjustments will need to be supported by a report from a Disability Services team, so please forward this information to us when you contact us.
