Karen Thomas joins the TIA Centre as Senior Project Manager

Karen Thomas has been appointed as the new Senior Project Manager for the TIA Centre. Karen has come from Coventry University where she was responsible for developing partnerships for academic collaboration with education establishments around the world. Prior to her time at Coventry she was employed in the voluntary sector running programmes on behalf of NHS England relating to renal disease. One of the programmes that she led involved the development of an algorithm by clinical biochemists for implementation into routine blood tests for the identification of Acute Kidney Injury (AKI). Karen has said “I am delighted to be joining the TIA Centre at a time of huge development and impact on the pathology sector – I am very excited to work with Warwick and TIA colleagues together with key stakeholders from the NHS community.” Karen has been appointed initially on a two year contract.
