Bridging the Gaps Symposium
1.5 Day Meeting (14-15 June)

Purpose:
- To strengthen and expand our network
- For each 'Bridging the Gaps' university to showcase their most promising research
- Public outreach on AMR, focusing on the role of EPS research
- Horizon scanning, a strategic review of the future of our AMR networks, role of EPS research and the funding landscape
Each University can contribute:
- Up to 12 delegates (including lead PI, project manager, speakers, poster presenters, soapbox speakers)
- 2 presentations (10 min each), for example to showcase best project/activities and/or most promising early career researchers
- up to 3 posters
- Budget for travel of own delegates + contribution to organisational costs (£50)
EPS for AMR Soapbox
"Soapbox" outreach is a low-tech but effective method of engaging members of the public on scientific ideas.
If you would like to participate, please nominate approachable and knowledgeable researchers with an interesting topic to debate.
Examples of soapbox topics could include:
"Why is it so hard to make new antibiotics? (And what are scientists doing about this?)"
"What is causing the spread of resistance? (And how can we model this?)"
