Instrumentation
All of our research involves collecting and analyzing data on complicated molecular systems. Sometimes the equipment we need does nto exist and sometimes what we have isn't quite right. Therefore much of our work involves designing or re-designing (often, to the horror of our engineering collaborators, with BluTack and Sugru) equipment and then validating it before we can use it to solve problems. Our goal is always to develop equipment that can be used not only in our projects but by other researchers and analysts. We often work with industrial companies. Much of our equipment is used in collabroation with Jasco UK Ltd and we work closely with Biopharmaceutical companies as we are convinced that the next level of innovation in European research and industry needs new techniques and scientists trained in new ways to use them. Our linear dichroism cells are now manufactured by Dioptica Scientific Ltd and sold world-wide.
