PhD Studentships
UK Students
Fully-funded PhD studentships are available through the BBSRC Midlands Integrative Bioscience Doctoral Training PartnershipLink opens in a new window (MIBTP)*. Recruitment for the 2025 cohort is OPEN.
Jenner Lab projects:
1). 'Reprogramming fungal polyketide synthases for the production of novel bioactive compounds'Link opens in a new window
Supervisors: Dr. Matthew Jenner (Warwick) & Dr. Fabrizio Alberti (Warwick)
2). 'Genomics-driven exploitation of aphid-killing bacteria as a source of novel biopesticidesLink opens in a new window'
Supervisors: Dr. Mojgan Rabiey (Warwick), Dr. Matthew Jenner (Warwick) & Prof. Rob Jackson (Birmingham)
* MIBTP is a BBSRC funded Doctoral Training Partnership between the Universities of Aston, Birmingham, Harper Adams, Leicester and Warwick.
EU/International Students
Individuals interested in applying for the Chancellor's International ScholarshipLink opens in a new window or China Scholarship CouncilLink opens in a new window to conduct PhD studies should contact Dr. Jenner directly (m.jenner@warwick.ac.uk) with a CV and outline of research interests. Applicants typically have outstanding academic records (among the top 5% of students in their class and with one or more publications).
Postdoctoral Fellowships
A BBSRC-funded postdoctoral fellowship is currently available to investigate programmed enoyl reduction in trans-AT polyketide synthases, using a
combination of structural biology techniques including NMR spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, protein mass spectrometry, and MD simulations. This is a highly collaborative project co-supervised by Prof. Jozef LewandowskiLink opens in a new window, Prof. Greg ChallisLink opens in a new window, Dr. Lona AlkhalafLink opens in a new window and Dr. Matthew JennerLink opens in a new window.
See HERELink opens in a new window for further information and details of how to apply (closing date 19 November 2024).
Individuals interested in applying for fellowships such as BBSRC DiscoveryLink opens in a new window, Leverhulme ECFLink opens in a new window, Marie-Sklodowska CurieLink opens in a new window and DFGLink opens in a new window (or equivalent) to conduct post doctoral studies should contact Dr. Jenner directly (m.jenner@warwick.ac.uk) with a CV and outline of research interests.
