Research into human-induced vibrations on concrete footbridges

This one's for any aspiring bridge engineers out there:

There's a great opportunity to help out with some research into human-induced vibrations on concrete footbridges. It's a great thing to put down on a CV and shows to perspective employers that you go the extra mile. Oh and there will be refreshments too!

The sessions are taking place over weekends and will involve you donning some cool morph suit like costumes whilst you are filmed with some expensive cameras. The sessions are taking place very soon so please send an email though to PHD student Hiep Dang who can give you the details of where and when to turn up!

Hiep's email is: H.V.Dang@warwick.ac.uk

Thanks!!

Rocket Stove Workshop

This Sunday (25th) November, we are making Rocket Stoves. (1-3pm, S0.10)

This is an efficient stove design that is used in developing companies to reduce fuel consumption and harmful smoke.

We are using oil drums, tin cans and sand to make them. It's going to be a really good workshop where everyone can get involved. We can test the stoves after we have made them too.

Come along and find out more about EWB and how smart technologies really can help people in developing countries.

It would be really useful if you could bring any tin cans (food cans like baked beans) with you to the workshop.

See you there!
