Dislocation distributions at finite temperature

Dislocations and their evolution are crucially important for atomistic simulations of solids. Unfortunately only very few rigorous results are available on the effect of temperature on dislocations. I will explain how the Ariza-Ortiz model, which was proposed in 2005 can shed light on some interesting phenomena including grain boundary energy and long-range order.

Some mathematical results will be presented without proof.
