HetSys Celebrates the End of Term 1 with Cross‑Cohort Quiz Night
The event provided a valuable opportunity for students across different years to meet, socialise, and strengthen the sense of community that sits at the heart of the CDT. With cohorts often working on varied research projects and schedules, the quiz offered a relaxed setting for students to interact beyond their academic routines and get to know peers from across the programme. The night featured a mixture of general‑knowledge rounds and specialist academic questions crafted by CDT Co‑Director Dr Livia Bartok Partay, whose carefully designed challenges tested the breadth and depth of participants’ scientific understanding. The blend of informal and discipline‑focused questions made for an engaging competition that encouraged teamwork and lively discussion.
Students enjoyed a selection of food and refreshments throughout the evening, adding to the warm, convivial atmosphere. Laughter, enthusiastic debate, and moments of triumphant answer‑reveals all contributed to a memorable community event.
