HetSys Annual Research Day 2025
The day provided a platform for students to share insights from their respective fields, broadening their understanding of various research topics. Through group presentations and interactive feedback sessions, students also had the opportunity to develop essential soft skills, including teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
The event focused on three key research themes:
- Electronic Structure and Quantum Dynamics
- Machine Learning Interatomic Potentials and Atomistic Modelling
- Fluid, Solid, and Plasma Mechanics
It was great to see lots of engaging and enthusiastic discussions take place throughout the day. The event feedback was positive with many stating that that their understanding of research in other fields had improved as a result of attending.
The day was also a celebration of student achievements. PGDip certificates were awarded to Cohort 4 and Fraser Birks also received the award for Best Academic Performance Overall.
We look forward to building on this momentum going forward.
