YC’s poster, titled “Machine Learning Multiscale Simulation of Defects in Correlated Oxides”, presented his research on developing accurate machine learning models to study Schottky defects in strontium titanate—a material system known for its complex long-range electrostatic interactions. His work focuses on evaluating how well these models capture such effects using a particularly challenging dataset.

Out of 762 posters presented, only 50 were selected for commendation, making this a significant recognition for both students. Both Adam and YC were delighted and surprised to receive the award and greatly valued the opportunity to engage with researchers working on similar topics.
