Warwick Crop Centre Genetic Resources Unit

Genetic Resources Unit

Warwick Genetic Resources Unit provides dedicated facilities and expertise in seed storage and handling to researchers within the University of Warwick and elsewhere. This includes long term storage of genetic resources such as mapping populations arising from research projects, as well as direct involvement in research projects examining genetic diversity in crops and related wild species.

Warwick GRU houses the UK Vegetable Genebank, a globally significant collection of around 14,000 seed samples of a range of vegetable crops. The UK Vegetable Genebank has a remit for the collection, conservation, characterization, documentation and research study of these vegetable crops and their wild relatives.
