taken from MA4L6 (21/22): Revision lecture (warwick.ac.uk)

Dear All,

As you hopefully know, the exam for Analytic Number Theory will take place on Tuesday 3rd May.

To help with final preparation for this, I will run a revision lecture in MS.05 on Friday 29th April at 2.00pm. I hope this time is convenient for most people. Please note that university guidance still encourages mask wearing in lecture theatres.

The revision lecture is intended to be a Q&A session. You can just show up and ask questions, or post them in advance in the Q&A forum on Moodle (please do this if your question is very specific and/or might benefit from a longer answer). I don't plan to present any other material, so the length of the session will depend on how many questions are asked.

Also, here is a piece of general revision advice (which I give every year, not based specifically on this year's exam which I haven't looked at since I wrote it in January!): there are some things (hopefully obvious from attending the course, or failing that from looking at past papers) which you should under no circumstances go into the exam without being able to do. If you cannot define the zeta function; prove the Euler product formula; do partial summation; and prove the Prime Number Theorem in a reasonable level of detail; then you are setting yourself up for a poor performance.

Best regards, from Adam
