When: Monday 8th May 2017, 13:00-18:00 – Tuesday 9th May 2017, 09:00-13:00
Organisers: Jason Laurie (Aston), Sergey Nazarenko (Warwick)
Where: Mathematics Institute, University of Warwick, Coventry, CV4 7AL, UK
Scope: The aim of the first meeting of the UK Fluids Network sponsored Special Interest Group (SIG) in Wave Turbulence is to outline the major challenges and obstacles to applying the wave turbulence paradigm to turbulence problems that include coherent structures and strong nonlinearities. Through talks and designated “round-table” discussions, the objective of this meeting is to:
•Begin to forge a coherent UK-wide wave turbulence network
•Outline problems, challenges, and obstacles that could be overcome with new developments in the wave turbulence approach
•Discuss possible new or existing strategies for extending wave turbulence theory to strong nonlinearities and/or incorporation of coherent structures
Funding: This meeting has no registration fee. Food and accommodation for Monday night is covered by funding from the UK Fluids Network and the University of Warwick. However, it is expected that participants can fund their own travel. Travel funds might be made available exceptionally upon request.
Where possible, visitors should obtain an EDUROAM account from their own university to enable internet access whilst at Warwick.
