Work Package 6

Quality of healthcare services

The overall purpose of Work Package 6 is to examine the issue of quality of healthcare delivered to people who live in slums. This work package has several components:

  • We will determine the best approach for measuring the quality of healthcare in a slum context.
  • Establish what the baseline quality of healthcare is for slum residents in our Asian and African setting.
  • Build research proposals for additional funding to gain insight into the barriers and facilitators to providing good quality healthcare in this context; and thus design, develop and evaluate interventions targeted at individual healthcare providers to improve the quality of healthcare delivered.
