How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Getting that first long-term academic position: A talk and Q+A with Professor Robin Goodwin

While doctoral students are regularly instructed about the process of preparing a strong CV, writing an excellent thesis and publishing in good journals the application and interview process for that first, long-term (or even permanent) teaching + research post is often daunting. In his experience as Head of Department for ~8 years at two different Universities, Robin has interviewed candidates applying to many different Departments. In this talk he will discuss the range of academic opportunities open to potential PhD students - many of which are not in Psychology departments - and consider some tips for the application letter, preparing an interview presentation, the interview, and how to negotiate with Department Heads and make best use of interview feedback.

If you would like to attend this event, then please submit the form here and we will send you the Teams link in due course.

Hope to see you all there!

International Women's Day screening of "Picture of Scientist"
L3

The Chemistry Wellbeing & Diversity Group and Athena Swan Team are screening...

PICTURE A SCIENTISTLink opens in a new window, a film that chronicles the groundswell of researchers who are writing a new chapter for women scientists. Biologist Nancy Hopkins, chemist Raychelle Burks, and geologist Jane Willenbring lead viewers on a journey deep into their own experiences in the sciences, ranging from brutal harassment to years of subtle slights. Along the way, from cramped laboratories to spectacular field stations, we encounter scientific luminaries - including social scientists, neuroscientists, and psychologists - who provide new perspectives on how to make science itself more diverse, equitable, and open to all.

Join us on Tuesday 8 March, for an International Women's Day screening, in L3 at 16:30 (running time 97 mins). REGISTER HERELink opens in a new window

Everyone in the SEM Faculty is welcome. More details at https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/chemistry/chemevents/iwd2022
