Making Memories - an Interview with Dr Kimberley Wade
Many people pride themselves on having a good memory, but as Dr Kimberley Wade has discovered, our memories are not as reliable as we believe. Dr Wade is currently researching the effects of suggestion on memory, including the possibility of creating a false memory about a person's childhood. Dr Wade is also interested in the practical implications of 'false' memories, particularly for those working in legal or clinical settings; for example, by asking certain questions, the evidence of a key witness in a legal trial may be influenced in a particular direction, with consequences on the verdict.
