Sleep needs at different stages of life

needs

The amount of sleep you need changes over your lifespan. However, sleep need is like shoe size: one size does not fit all. Some people need more and some need less. Experts recommend new-borns sleep for 14-17 hours each day and school-aged children and adolescents sleep for 10 hours at least. For adults, this is about 7-9 hours of sleep each night. However, it’s important to determine the amount of sleep you need to feel and perform your best, which could also have individual day-to-day variations. Quality of sleep and the timing of sleep are as important as quantity, and longer sleep duration doesn’t necessarily result in better sleep. During this program, we will work together to figure out YOUR ideal amount of sleep.
