Digital toolsets for Electrification of Transport Systems

Research Group Activity

Our research is focused on advanced propulsion, system modelling, simulation, energy management and control solutions for future transportation and energy systems.

Project Description

The electric motorcycle research project will develop a middleweight retro-roadster that runs on a battery-powered electric motor, thereby meaningful for the rider and low impact for the environment. The project aims to create an authentic and best in class affordable electric-motorcycle whose design is unmistakably British, and is powered by green-fuel, contributing to the UK's Net Zero target. Intelligent power-energy management and dynamic control will be utilised to maximise the energy efficiency while ensuring power delivery, stability, reliability and safety of the designed motorcycle.
In, this particular internship project, the student will be expected to contribute to the development of interesting motorcycle models and relevant control features which can be fully evaluated in a reliable simulation environment.
