CES Welcomes Dr Abdullah Sahin

CES would like to welcome Dr Abdullah Sahin to the department, Dr. Sahin comes from an Islamic Studies, Theology and Educational Studies background. He has conducted research on religious identity formation among British Muslim youth and worked on educational strategies to address the impact of religious extremism within Muslim minority and majority contexts.

Warwick Excellence in Teaching Awards

Congratulations to Dr Jackie Dynes, Dr Madeline Findon, Dr Mick Hammond and Jo Trowsdale who have all been nominated for the prestigious WATE awards in 2015/16. This is recognition for staff who have been identified by students and colleagues as having made a difference in teaching and learning.


CES PG Research Conference 2016

CES has been organising annual postgraduate conference since 2012. Each year, the conference featured themes that unlock the interdiciplinarity in education, providing a space for research students to share their research in a supportive and educational environment. Quality time rather than study time improves teens’ educational aspirations

Teenagers who spend quality time with their parents are more likely to want to further their studies, according to research from the Centre for Education Studies.

Heather Switzer, Arizona State University to visit CES

Heather Switzer from Arizona State University will be visiting CES on 11th April.

Heather is Assistant Professor of Women and Gender Studies at ASU and is working at the intersection of Girlhood Studies and International Development Studies. During her visit, Heather will present "Postfeminist Politics and Girl Effects: School(ing) Girls in Global and Local Discourse" at the CES Seminar Series . A seminar based on her current book project, School Girls: Learning Gender and Developing Identity in Contemporary Kenya.
