Promoting Mathematics Resilience Conference

The Second International Conference on Mathematical Resilience

Venue: The Open University, Walton Hall

Date & Time: Friday 3rd March and Saturday 4th March 2017

You can find more details about the day and the booking form for this event here.

This conference, supported by the Warwick ESRC Impact Acceleration Account, was aimed at all those involved in supporting learning of mathematics. It brought together people working to promote mathematical resilience in learners, including teachers and representatives from educational institutions, parents and carers.

The theme of the conference encompassed the continuum of need for mathematical resilience in one’s lifetime; it will include numeracy throughout the lifespan, capability to grow new skills, and activities involving both a little and a lot of maths.

As Minister for Pensions, I would certainly like to ensure that everyone in Britain understands their State pension position. To do that of course involves a knowledge of basic Mathematics. So I send my good wishes to the Conference on Promoting Maths Resilience, sponsored by Warwick University and others.

Ros Altmann, Minister for Pensions
