Q: Who can present at the conference?

A: All postgraduate researchers with an interest in the broad topic of education are welcome to submit an abstract. You can be at any stage in your research, with specialisations in any phase or topic of education.


Q: I haven’t had much experience presenting at conference, what if I don’t feel very confident?

A: We’ve all felt that way before! The conference has been designed to be very welcoming so you'll be able to practice presenting to your PGR peers and get feedback. Presenting is an important skill in any career so this is a great opportunity to develop it further.


Q: I haven’t collected any data yet in my research, can I still present?

A: Yes! You don’t need to have original data to get involved - we welcome all types of content. For example, you could present a review of a research area, an overview of existing policy, a reflection on practice from your own experiences, an overview of your proposed project, or a book review. If you’re not sure, send us an email and one of our friendly committee members will be glad to talk you through your ideas.


Q: What are the expectations with time commitments? I’m very busy but still want to get involved!

A: The presentations at the conference are only 20 minutes long, including questions from the audience. We'd love for you to stay and support other presenters throughout the day, but we understand if that’s not possible. The conference will take place over two days so if you’re restricted by which day is feasible, please let us know when submitting your abstract so we can try to accommodate your needs. Equally, you may instead like to submit a poster along with a recorded presentation for others to watch asynchronously.


Q: I am from another university, can I present?

A: Yes, we highly encourage postgraduate students from all universities across the world to present and attend!


Q: Do I have to pay in order to attend or present?

A: No, this conference is free for all!


Q: I have submitted an abstract but can no longer attend the conference. How can I cancel my registration?

A: Please contact us as soon as possible so that we can amend the conference programme.


Q: Why is the conference hybrid?

A: This year, we are excited to introduce a hybrid format for the conference, combining the best of both worlds: the accessibility and inclusivity of an online event with the dynamic, interactive experience of an in-person gathering.

The online component ensures that the conference remains accessible to a global audience, eliminating barriers such as travel, accommodation, and food costs. It also provides flexibility for those balancing childcare, work, or other commitments. Last year’s fully online conference, organised without funding and by a small committee of volunteer PGR students, welcomed participants from over 30 universities across 7 countries—an achievement that showcased the power of virtual engagement.

This year, we’re bringing back the in-person conference to reconnect with the vibrant energy of face-to-face interactions, networking, and collaborative discussions.

By offering both options, we aim to make the event as inclusive and impactful as possible, ensuring that everyone, regardless of location or circumstance, can participate and contribute.
