ePortfolio of Rania Mohamed

Welcome to my e-Portfolio!
My name is Rania Mohamed. I am from Qatar and I used to be a senior school evaluation specialist at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. Currently, I am a senior Program Review and Students' Learning Outcomes Assessment specialist at Qatar University and a Lecturer to be at the same time. I am in my fourth and final PhD year. My research interest focuses on Quality Assurance in education specifically, the evaluation system in the State of Qatar in the Middle East.
I have worked in the education field for more than 20 years. But I deeply enjoyed my role when I started to make a contribution in a larger context through evaluating schools' performance to provide them with their strengths and areas of developments. Then, I felt that this is the time to apply research to inform my practices. So, I decided to study my master’s degree at Qatar University in 2016 in the field of Educational Leadership. As the following step, I decided to be specialized in Quality Assurance and study my PhD. at the University of Warwick.

My research's main inquiry is: What is the impact of the national external evaluation process on private education in the state of Qatar from the perspectives of school evaluators and school principals?

I applied mixed methods to investigate my research question utilizing a survey that included closed and opened questions with school principals and qualitative interviews with evaluators.
Currently, I submitted my 2nd thesis draft and waiting for the viva.
Wish me luck!
