Student Experience

The Student Experience Team: Cheryl and Sally

Introducing the Education Studies Student Experience Team! Cheryl Cane is the Department’s Director of Student Experience and her colleague, Sally Blakeman, is the Student Engagement and Experience Officer. You will see lots of us during the year!

Events

There is so much going on in Education Studies. We offer a calendar of events throughout the academic year, including weekly Spotlight sessions at which you will learn more about a wide range of academic skills, as well as sessions to help you think about and prepare for your future career. We also organise a wide range of social events. We will tell you more about this in Welcome Week and will give you regular updates throughout the year. If you have not already done so, follow us on Instagram at warwick_education to be sure to hear about everything that is happening.

Opportunities to get involved in the Department of Education Studies and meet people

There are so many ways you can become involved – why not join the Student-Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC) or our Student Panel to work with students and staff on new ideas? You could become a comms champion or a social inclusion champion, or perhaps you would like to be a Department photographer or join the Student Committee organising our annual Careers in Education Conference? We will tell you all about these fantastic opportunities at the start of term!

Kella: our wellbeing dog

Photo of Kella

In Education Studies we are very lucky to have Kella the two-year-old Cockapoo who has an important student and staff wellbeing role that she takes very seriously! Kella has been part of the Department since she was a small puppy and can often be seen on campus with her owner, the Director of Education, Sarah Dahl. Kella’s an enthusiastic member of the team, bringing lots of fun and energy!
