EQ904 Individual Differences: Theory and Classroom

Module Leader: Elisabeth Blagrove (Psychology)

Have you ever wondered how the aspects of our psychology which can make us unique as humans (eg our personality, our moods and emotions) might influence the way we interact with the learning environment? This module examines the research and theory behind our understanding of individual differences, and their role in the classroom context. Specifically, it will address issues around personality, intelligence and emotion theory and research in an interactive way, as well as their application to individual wellbeing. In turn, it will consider how each factor might contribute to the learner’s experience of education. This will give students opportunity to reflect on their own unique contribution to the learning environment, as well as the similarities and differences we see between humans as a species.
