Mathematical Resilience Network - Welsh Branch

The first meeting of the Welsh branch of the Mathematical Resilience Network will be held for parents online on

Wednesday 3rd October 7:30-8:30pm.

This timing is to fit into Maths Week Wales.

In this free online Maths Week Wales 2025 event, Dr Rosemary Russell talks about her latest book, Help Your Child Do Maths Even If You Don’t: 10 things that ANYONE can do to help their child with maths - without doing any maths at all!

The book is also available in a Welsh/English bilingual edition, Helpwch eich Plentyn i Wneud Mathemateg hyd yn oed os NAD YDYCH CHI.

Parents know how important it is for their children to be confident in maths, but many feel burdened by their own struggles with it. Rosemary, who has a PhD for her research into Parents Helping Their Children With Mathematics, shows how any parent or care-giver (even those who think they are 'rubbish' at maths) can help give their child a can-do attitude to it.

Some of the most important things that parents can do to help their children learn maths do not directly involve doing any maths at all. So, whatever your own feelings about maths, you can help! In this session, based on her latest book, Rosemary addresses how you can build up your child's confidence and give them the positive, resilient attitude that is so crucial to learning the subject.

You will have the opportunity to ask Rosemary questions during the session.

Books are available to borrow in some schools and libraries. Please ask for them. You can also purchase your own copy on Amazon:
