On 19^th December 2024, S Arokia Mary, research assistant working on the WAHEI project visited the University of Calicut, Kerala, India, where she met with Prof Abdul Gafoor and Dr. Manoj Praveen G. from University of Calicut and Dr Ashkar Ali, from CHMKM Govt Arts and Science College and Mr Mukhtar, student at University of Calicut.

Prof Abdul Gafoor presided/chaired the meeting. The collective discussed the progress regarding the data collection and analysis work which form part of the WAHEI project fieldwork. They reflected on the process of data analysis, reporting and the guidelines provided by the project's central team. Further, they also discussed context specific issues related to Higher Education decision making processes in the context of the state of Kerala. Further, the state team members discussed important issues regarding the amendments to Higher Education admissions and emerging higher education avenues within the state and the differences across institutions.
