In early July 2024, the WAHEI team welcomed Dr Manika Bora to the Department of Education Studies. Dr Bora had travelled to the UK from OP Jindal Global University, India, to attend a conference. Given her position on the Consultative Group of the Fair Chance for Education project, Dr Bora has maintained contact with the team and an interest in the follow-up project, WAHEI. Dr Bora made time in her schedule to visit the Warwick campus for a series of engagements which included:

• Co-hosted by the WAHEI project and WICID Dr Bora presented a talk on the topic of “To delay or not to delay: Beyond the Marriage -Education Trade-offs in Secondary Schooling for Young Women in Eastern India”
• Met with the DEAR Centre doctoral and postdoctoral group, to discuss the group members' ongoing research projects.
• Audited the meeting of the DEAR Centre Steering Committee.
• Met and networked with various members of the Department of Education Studies.
