WAHEI latest project reading meeting - November 2025
In the last WAHEI reading meeting, we explored implementation of widening participation policies in higher education, drawing from Jon Rainford's (2021) article, "Working with/in institutions: how policy enactment in widening participation is shaped through practitioners' experience." Our discussions examined how personal and professional backgrounds of practitioners and academics shape their orientations to policy enactment—sometimes aligning with institutional interests, at other times prioritising student needs—and the implications of this tension for equity work.
