Welcome message from Professor David Wray
Research on Teaching and Learning in the Centre for Education Studies focused on pedagogy (where our key fields of study included pedagogies in literacy, ICT, and Modern Foreign Languages), and new technologies through the Centre for New Technologies Research in Education (CeNTRE).
Projects carried out, and publications produced, were often targeted at professional communities such as teachers, and group members produced a number of highly rated professional publications.
The Teaching and Learning research group was led by Professor David Wray, Professor of Literacy Education at the University of Warwick and formerly Director of the Institute of Education. He has published over 50 books, and well over 100 chapters and articles on aspects of literacy teaching and is best known for his work on developing teaching strategies to help pupils access the curriculum through literacy.
