Traumatised Refugees in Europe
This comparative study examines the situation of traumatised (asylum seekers and) refugees in 10 EU member states, focusing on: national legal frameworks governing the treatment and care of traumatised refugees; the impact of asylum determination procedures on them; and the way in which statutory and voluntary agencies across the EU provide care and social assistance (if any) to trauma sufferers in the refugee population. The study aims to highlight good practices where they exist and to make recommendations in respect of the development of robust and fair systems for reception and integration of traumatised refugees across the EU.
