The Warwick Teacher Researcher Network
We have 10 x £3,000 grants available to our school partners to support small scale ‘close-to-practice' research projects to be conducted in schools. The grant includes 6 hrs of academic support from CTE between April 2022 and July 2022 to create the research proposal and support your research activity in school. The grant funding will pay cover costs for one staff member to attend the Teacher Researcher Network meeting on 8th April 2022, which comprises a workshop led by Dr Claire Tyson. CTE will provide academic support in the form of 6 x 1 hr meetings with an academic from our department to develop the research proposal, including ethical consideration and the design of research instruments. We will try to match your project with a colleague at CTE who shares a research interest, but this cannot be guaranteed.
By July 2022, you would be required to write both a short report on the academic support received from CTE and a research proposal for work to be undertaken in the 2022/23 school year. There are no specific requirements regarding research areas and would welcome proposals which are closely linked to school needs and priorities. Also of interest would be projects that focus on enhancing research culture and engagement in schools and staff development. Research proposals for 2022/23 must be for new research, although they can build on previous work. Unfortunately, grants cannot be used to support research being done for a qualification, such as an MA, EdD, PhD or other postgraduate award. However, the research can be used to generate evidence to support the completion of professional qualifications.
You will need to apply to the fund online by Monday 28th March 2022.
