Project Title

3D Felt Pizzas

To develop students’ basic embroidery and hand-sewing skills while exploring textile construction techniques through the creation of a 3D felt pizza.
Year 8 at Coundon Court School
Students learnt fundamental embroidery and sewing techniques, including blanket stitch, running stitch, and seed stitch. They developed their fine motor skills and textile construction abilities through cutting, layering, and stitching felt pieces. Additionally, they gained an understanding of how to assemble and stuff a 3D object while personalising their designs with custom toppings.
How can hands-on, creative textile projects enhance students’ fine motor skills and understanding of textile art in a fun and engaging way?
