Your experience, our expertise

When you train with us, you receive high-quality academic teaching and pastoral support during your university studies. We have over 75 years of experience in training teachers with a research-based curriculum taught by experienced tutors, many of whom have had long careers in teaching.

We focus on developing your knowledge and understanding of how children learn, behaviour management, adaptive teaching and assessment, as well as how to teach the curriculum.

Enriching school placements

Our close partnerships with schools across Coventry, Warwickshire, the West Midlands and further afield mean we can offer a variety of school placements to support your practice.

You will be mentored by trained, experienced teachers who provide professional training and development to complement your university-based experience.

You will have the opportunity to experience teaching SEND pupils and develop a broad practice to support children of all backgrounds and needs during your teaching career.

Supporting you

We understand the journey you’ll go on, and we’ll support you to balance both your academic work and your school placements. You’ll have access to excellent personal, pastoral and academic support with a dedicated personal tutor and a mentor in your placement schools.

We treat each of our trainees as individuals, thanks to the reciprocal relationship between us and you and our partner schools. We nurture you through your training, catering to your needs and academically and practically guiding you through your course.

You’ll also develop friendships and a support system with your fellow trainees. Joining collaborative teaching sessions with your peers will grow your connections and build your community of other like-minded future teachers, which will remain after you finish your course.

We also offer excellent support for those with disabilities or additional needs.
