International Women's Day 2022

International Women's Day 2022

The Department of Economics is pleased to relaunch the “Inspiring Women Gallery” to celebrate International Women’s Day 2022 (IWD). This year, we would like to join two of global campaigns.

  1. The UN Women’s theme “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”
Women are increasingly being recognised as more vulnerable to climate change impacts. At the same time, women and girls are involved in sustainability initiatives around the world, and their participation and leadership results in more effective climate action. We invite students and staff to nominate inspiring women and girls from around the world who are contributing to make our future more sustainable and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
  2. IWD #BreakTheBias Campaign
We ALL can contribute to create a more equal world, free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. It does not matter our starting point, there are big and small actions we all can do. We are all responsible for our own thoughts and actions and can contribute to break the bias. We invite students and staff to share your pictures with the #BreakTheBias pose and tell us what means to break the bias for you!
Some examples of what you can do.
