We work closely with various societies in the Department.

As well as becoming a member, you can also apply to join their executive committee in roles such as President, Fresher Rep, Treasurer, Talks Coordinator, or Social Secretary, giving you something extra to put on your CV.

Warwick Economics Summit

One of the largest student-run academic conferences in Europe, set out from the rest by world-renowned figures, engaging debates, and educational workshops. The Warwick Economics Summit touches on a range of global issues including politics, development, finance, and psychology, and is famed for its incredible line-up of speakers- from Nobel Prize winners to Prime Ministers, from human rights activists to industry leaders. But the Summit isn't only a weekend of talks. It is a place to meet new people, to expand your global knowledge, and most importantly, to be entertained.

Warwick Women in Economics Society

The Warwick Women in Economics Society (WWiE) is the UK’s first society dedicated to supporting female students at university and further down the economics career pipeline. As an intersectional society, they advocate increasing diversity in all dimensions and welcome students of all degrees and genders to join. They host regular and popular events from successful women in a wide range of fields, amplifying the voices of those who have been systematically excluded from the discipline. This creates excitement and a supportive direction for female students at Warwick throughout their journey.

Warwick Economics Society

Warwick Economics Society aims to give you a diverse range of events that helps you progress not only academically but also along your chosen career path. As one of the longest-standing academic societies and one of the largest on campus, it has over 1200 members. They host a wide variety of talks to provide members with access to world-renowned speakers, career events, socials, tours, sporting activities, an annual ball and opportunities to become more engaged within your local and global communities through charity events.

Rethink Economics Warwick

Rethink Economics Warwick is a student society at Warwick which aims to promote economic pluralism and interdisciplinary collaboration within economics and the social sciences. They do this by inviting engaging speakers from across the UK and the world and raising awareness of alternative economic theories among students of the social sciences. They also aim to do an in-depth review of the economics curriculum at Warwick with the aim of providing it with pluralist insights.

Prosper Warwick Economics

Prosper Warwick Economics is a community that is dedicated to going on the early career journey with Warwick Economics (or wider joint degree) students who identify as black. We aim to help you bridge the gap between your economics degree and its real life vocational application, so we have finance, law and technology streams as well as a free flow stream for those still figuring things out. We provide great connections with firms across a wide variety of industries as well as opportunities for upskilling and mentorship.
