Interested in a career as a Barrister? Why not come along to a virtual mini-series hosted by The University of Law’s Future Pupil Programme Coordinator. This session provides an overview of the bar, the options of how to get there and what the University of Law Bar Professional Course offers students.

This webinar will be a short presentation on creating CVs and covering letters and completing application forms. It will be followed by the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have in regards to writing effective applications.

In this workshop, we will discuss the key traits that organisations and companies look for in interviewees, what each question really means, and how to answer it according to the expectation. We will look into soft skills: coachability, emotional intelligence, motivation, engagement and entrepreneurial mindset. We will also look into the most efficient ways to answer questions regarding hard skills, analytical skills and role specific skills.

Representatives from organisations working in particular sectors within television and radio will deliver a series of virtual presentations. Following the presentations, there will be an opportunity for networking with the speakers in an online Q&A session.

We are hosting an event in coordination with St John Ambulance medics related to spiking incidents and nightlife safety. This presentation will cover information relating to spiking of drinks with alcohol or drugs and injection spiking through needles, first aid protocol, and information on existing support groups.

The event will take the form of a panel discussion where some of the female barristers at Quadrant will discuss the reality of life at the Commercial Bar. They are at differing stages in their careers, from pupils and new tenants through to our new female Head of Chambers, Poonam Melwani QC. They will give a range of perspectives on their work, the challenges and rewards and how the career affects their work/life balance. The discussion will be followed by some smaller breakout sessions for a more informal fireside chat, where you can ask questions and get some first-hand knowledge of life at the Commercial Bar.

In 2021, 99 students gained paid, CV enhancing work experience from Warwick Internship Programme (WIP)! Will you be one of the WIP 2022 interns WIP offers paid, 6-week full-time internships with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), charities and internal departments of the University. The programme is open to all Warwick undergraduate and integrated undergraduate Master's (e.g. MMORSE, MPhys) students. Programme information will be delivered in the first hour followed by 30 minutes Q&A (optional).
