How do I use this calendar?

You can click on an event to display further information about it.

The toolbar above the calendar has buttons to view different events. Use the left and right arrow icons to view events in the past and future. The button inbetween returns you to today's view. The button to the right of this shows a mini-calendar to let you quickly jump to any date.

The dropdown box on the right allows you to see a different view of the calendar, such as an agenda or a termly view.

If this calendar has tags, you can use the labelled checkboxes at the top of the page to select just the tags you wish to view, and then click "Show selected". The calendar will be redisplayed with just the events related to these tags, making it easier to find what you're looking for.

Workshop to Celebrate 125 Years of the Sale of Goods Act
S2.77 Cowling Room Social Sciences Building

There is no charge for attending this workshop, but spaces are very limited and reservation is essential. Please email Sandra Phillips on law.events@warwick.ac.uk to register your place by Friday, 6 December 2019.

Workshop organised by James Devenney and Christian Twigg-Flesner

The Sale of Goods Act 1893 received Royal Assent on 20 February 1894, and so 2019 marks the 125th anniversary of the first codification of aspects of English sales law. The 1893 Act was amended many times since it received Royal Assent, with consolidation in 1979 and many changes since then, so the 125th anniversary is a good point in time to take stock and consider what the future may hold for the Sale of Goods Act. Topics will focus on the general role of the Sale of Goods Act and its relevance in the 21st century; the status and possible future development of aspects such as the rules on the transfer of ownership, nemo dat and retention of title, as well as a look towards the digital future.

Speakers: Orkun Akseli (Durham), Hugh Beale (Warwick), Sarah Brown (Leeds), James Devenney (Dublin/Reading), Louise Gullifer (Cambridge), Duncan Sheehan (Leeds), Christian Twigg-Flesner (Warwick) and Fidelma White (Cork).
