Engage new audiences of all ages with the wonders of mathematics by joining our training to become a maths busker. Maths busking is the art of using street performance that surprises and delights passers by with entertaining routines deep rooted in maths.

Increasingly, researchers are required to engage in public engagement activities, presenting and talking about their research to a range of non-specialist audiences. In this session, you will begin to think about how to present your work to audiences, highlighting the best, most interesting elements, and getting others excited about your research. If you have a public engagement activity in mind, or if you’re considering further research funding which has engagement requirements, this will be a great starting point.

This session will be led by Ellie King, Doctoral Researcher of Visitor Experience and evaluation in museums, and fellow of Warwick’s Institute of Engagement.

What is culture, and how do cultural practices shape inclusion and exclusion? 

Join us for an evening of open panel discussion with three leading academics as they discuss cultures of belonging across time, place and context. Three public intellectuals come together in conversation reflecting on the promises and caveats of cultures of belonging. The open panel discussion will be accompanied by an art showcase by the poet, musician and artist Sujatha Menon in collaboration with digital artist Paul Windridge as they bring to life and celebrate the many fascinating projects that the Connecting Cultures GRP has funded over the past academic year. The event is followed by a drinks and nibbles reception.
