High student satisfaction reported in latest Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey 2023
We are pleased to announce that Warwick Law School has achieved high levels of student satisfaction, as reported in the latest Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) 2023.
The PTES is a national survey of postgraduate taught students, which this year ran from 24 April – 9 June 2023. The survey asked students to tell us their thoughts about teaching and learning, engagement, skills development and other areas of their course. This year’s response rate was 39.2%.
Despite the challenges faced by this student cohort due to disruptions caused by industrial action, we have been delighted to see that students have remained satisfied with the academic quality of their courses, the quality of the learning environment, the quality of campus facilities, resources and the Library. Students have been positive about the diverse nature of the student body and the inclusive nature of the Warwick community.
In particular, we were thrilled to see:
- 95% of students agreed that staff are enthusiastic about what they are teaching
- 91% of students agreed that the course had enhanced their academic ability
- 91% agreed that learning materials were useful
Whilst we are pleased with this positive feedback, the survey also highlighted areas for improvement. Over the next year, we will be focusing on creating greater engagement within our community and improving assessment feedback.
Director of Postgraduate Taught Studies, Dr Kathryn McMahon has said:
“We are delighted with the results of the student survey. Notwithstanding a challenging year students told us they were very happy with the academic quality of our teaching and resources. We are constantly looking at ways to improve our programmes and are grateful to receive student feedback. We ask students to use the feedback form provided here and/or voice their opinion through the SSLC.”
Director of Student Experience, Dr Rebecca Munro has said:
“We are happy to see the survey results, especially considering the challenges students have faced this year. While we're delighted by the positive feedback, we acknowledge there's room for improvement. The Student Experience Team will continue to collaborate with the SSLC and PG students to gather your feedback on how we can enhance the overall experience for students at Warwick Law School.”
