Law students make Union Awards shortlist

Law performed exceptionally well in the nominations for the Union Awards 2021 that took place last week.

The Union Awards celebrate those who help make Warwick SU the buzzing hub of campus life, and are divided into two categories: ‘Societies’ and ‘Student Voice and Impact’. Both areas feature a wide range of awards, with Law being particularly highly represented in the ‘Student Voice and Impact’ section.

Under Faculty/ Department Rep of the Year, Sofia Dadou was shortlisted for the award in recognition of the fantastic work she has done amplifying student voices at Warwick Law School. Further recognition was paid to Law UG, which was shortlisted for Student Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC) of the Year - owing to the outstanding efforts made to facilitate communication and cooperation between students and staff within the Law department. Finally, the Warwick Law Summit 2021 was also shortlisted for Online Society Event of the Year, a validation of the tremendous collaborative effort required by many to ensure its success.

A huge congratulations to all nominees for this year’s awards. The competition was extremely tight this year in reflection of the immense work that so many students and staff put into ensuring that remote learning and engagement would not negatively impact student experiences at Warwick. Law’s achievements are a testament to the perseverance and talent of so many of its members.

Well done everybody!
