The event will take place on Friday 6 March from 12:00 until 14:00 in the Oculus (OC1.06) at the University of Warwick. Lunch will be provided.

Danielle is currently in her final year of a three year LLB degree and a full time disability advocate.

International Women's Day 2020: Danielle Oreoluwa Jinadu

Despite her frequent hospitalisations since the age of 5 and the ongoing disruptions to her education, Danielle has not allowed her illness, Sickle Cell Anemia, to silence her. Instead she has utilised her voice as an agent for change in the Sickle Cell community. In 2019, she shared her experience of the “world's most foremost and at times lethal genetic blood disorder” through her TEDx Talk 'The Big Black Blood Issue'.

Since then, she has continued to encourage change in how we perceive and navigate this chronic illness in both public and private spheres. Partnering with the NHS Blood Donation team to support their campaigns for blood donors she has appeared on ITV News, as well as speaking recently at Google and Facebook’s Sickle Cell Awareness Event.

Once she has finished her undergraduate degree, Danielle hopes to pursue a career in Human Rights Law.
