In Conversation with Baiju Vasani

Baiju Vasani who is a the global head of international arbitration at Ivanyan and Partners in Moscow, a leading international disputes counsel, a Senior Fellow of SOAS University of London, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and sits on the panel of several arbitral institutions, including ICSID.
With nearly two decades of practice, Baiju focuses exclusively on investor-state disputes and commercial arbitration. He has served as council and arbitrator before the world’s leading arbitral fora, including ICSID, ICC, LCIA, HKIAC and involving UNCITRAL rules, BITs and NAFTA. He is well known for his experience in politically sensitive disputes as well as advising states on the negotiation and drafting of investment treaties, but also as a champion for reform in the world of arbitration, in particular concerning diversity and equality. Baiju has regularly been ranked by his peers for expertise in international arbitration by Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA, Chambers UK, Who’s Who of International Commercial Arbitration, The Legal 500, Guide to the World’s Experts in Commercial Arbitration, and Reuters’ Super Lawyers.
