D&D Team awarded ESRC IAA impact grant

New Publication: Data gathering and utilization: humanitarian targeting and ethical issues in northeastern Nigeria
Data and Displacement team members Olufunke Fayehun (Co-Investigator) , Olayinka Akanle, Omolara Popoola, Ewajesu Okewumi, Funke Williams, Abubakar Adam, Kaka Alhajimai and Olufunto Abimbola just published in Journal of International Humanitarian Action their most recent contribution building on the project's research. They discuss data targeting processes in the humanitarian sector of Northeast Nigeria and the ethical concerns that arise when such data is collected and used to advance understanding and improve humanitarian protection systems.
New publication: Coloniality and frictions: Data-driven humanitarianism in North-Eastern Nigeria and South Sudan
Data and Displacement team members Vicki Squire (Principal Investigator) and Modesta Alozie (Lead Research Fellow) just published in Big Data and Society their most recent contribution building on the project's research. They discuss the role of data in the provision of humanitarian assistance within camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs) across north-eastern Nigeria and South Sudan.
