We presented our research at the Geneva Centre for Humanitarian Studies!
Today, the Geneva Centre for Humanitarian Studies hosted our Data and Displacement project. Our team members presented our project at this event to get feedback on how to further develop our project. Participants from various organisations and academic institutions, including IOM, IFRC, and the Universities of Warwick, Juba and Ibadan attended this event, and there were Lots of interesting discussions on Humanitarian ethics, Humanitarian data, and on involving local actors in humanitarian research and decision making.
New Report-Humanitarian Crises and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Nigeria
In 2021, the Data and Displacement project published a report entitled 'Humanitarian Crises and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Nigeria'. The report is authored by our University of Ibadan partners and it provides insights into the ethics of data collection and use, while also highlighting the high levels of deprivation under which many displaced people in North East Nigeria live.
